3 contestants on ITV’s Squid Game-style TV show ‘rushed to hospital’

Three contestants have reportedly been rushed to hospital while filming a new programme on ITV. The Squid Game-inspired competition sees 100 contestants take part in various activities to escape elimination. It’s been said one of these involved jumping into a 20ft pile of hay to find chopsticks; however, filming descended into chaos when contestants reportedly needed urgent hospital care.

According to The Sun, three players ‘developed an allergic reaction’ and some were treated at the scene. An insider claimed to the publication that one person suffered a head injury after fainting in the toilets following the challenge. No one is said to have suffered any life-changing injuries, and we understand that an on-site medic was present during the game and able to assist people.

The game itself involved the players wearing goggles and was deemed low risk after a thorough risk assessment was completed beforehand.

Filming has since been temporarily suspended, with plans to resume later this week.

The programme, which is already a success in other countries across Europe, is titled 99 to Beat and fronted by Adam Thomas and Ryan Thomas.
