Entertainer Kerry Wilson, who featured on the BBC in programmes including The Jonathan Ross Show, has died at the age of 56 after contracting the flu.
Described by her heartbroken mother, Linda, as a “comedian, an impressionist, a singer, and an all-round entertainer,” Wilson had no prior health issues before her death shortly after the New Year.
After telling Linda she felt “a bit sniffly,” Wilson’s condition worsened as her oxygen levels dropped.
Within 12 hours, Wilson was in a coma on a ventilator and later passed away. Linda revealed that the flu she had been suffering from was influenza A, which affects the lungs and can lead to pneumonia.
