Woman found dead in Liverpool city centre hotel

An investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at a city centre hotel in Liverpool.

Emergency services were called to the Lord Nelson Hotel on Hotham Street at around 1.40pm on Friday (11 April) after receiving a report that a woman had been found unconscious inside.
Merseyside Police confirmed emergency services attended the scene, but she was pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and the cause of her death.

A large police presence was visible outside the hotel on Friday afternoon, with multiple police cars and vans parked on Lord Nelson Street and Hotham Street. CSI officers in white suits were seen entering and exiting the hotel, while part of the street was cordoned off by police.

Several people staying at the hotel reported being instructed not to leave their rooms.
