A large emergency response was deployed to a residential street in north Manchester on Monday evening (21 April), as the area was cordoned off.
Police, paramedics and fire crews descended on Edgware Road and Edenbridge Road in the Clayton area shortly before 5pm following a report of concern for welfare. Images and videos shared online showed unmarked police cars, alongside fire engines and police vans lining the street, with a cordon also in place.
Officers were seen speaking to residents and later escorting a group away from the scene during the response. The cordon remained in place for approximately 90 minutes before it was lifted.
Emergency services had been called due to concerns for the welfare of a man. Police later confirmed that a man, believed to be in his late 30s, was detained at the scene.
