Evil killer dad Mick Philpott is said to be the target of fellow inmates behind bars, having been left “battered and bruised” after a recent prison attack. Philpott, who killed six of his children when he set fire to his own home in 2012, was reportedly assaulted by another prisoner at HMP Wakefield, who launched an attack using a metal container.
“Philpott was in a bad way after the attack – battered and bruised and with two large and noticeable lumps on the back of his head,” a source said.
“The other lad pounced on him and whacked him quite a few times from behind,” they told The Sun. “It was one bloke on his own – someone quite a bit younger than Philpott and it happened really quickly on the landing.” The source described a “huge commotion” as guards rushed in to deal with the situation. They said Philpott, who was jailed after being convicted of six counts of manslaughter, could have come off much worse in the attack.
The source added that the 68-year-old had been feeling sorry for himself in the tough prison, where some of Britain’s most notorious criminals have been held, including serial killer doctor Harold Shipman and double child murderer Ian Huntley. However, according to the source, the only sympathy in the prison is for the six children Philpott killed. They also claimed that people in the jail were laughing after the attack.
