Full list of 18 UK cities set for wave of snow and torrential rain

UK weather maps are forecasting a fresh wave of snowfall across the country. For much of the rest of the nation, heavy rain is on the way.

Storm Eowyn has damaged buildings, uprooted trees and cut power to more than 280,000 homes and businesses. Mace Head on Ireland’s Galway coast has recorded the strongest winds in the country’s history at 114mph. But for now, it is back to the white stuff.

According to WXCHARTS maps, backed by Metdesk data, several UK cities are set to be blanketed by snow.

Cities expected to be drenched by midday on 29 January include:

London, Canterbury, Brighton, Ipswich, Norwich, Cambridge, Bedford, Peterborough, Leicester, Coventry, Nottingham, Lincoln, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, Lancaster, Carlisle & Belfast.

In total, 18 cities are predicted to experience either snow or rain on 29 January. This comes as Storm Eowyn continues to wreak havoc across the UK and Ireland.

Red and amber weather warnings were issued in Northern Ireland and Scotland this week. Although many of these warnings have been lifted, the Met Office still has four yellow weather warnings in place, reports the Express.

One is for wind in Scotland, another for snow and ice in southern and eastern parts of Scotland, and an area spanning from Plymouth to Nottingham in England is under yellow warnings for ice.

According to the Met Office, “spells of heavy rain” are set to arrive from 8am tomorrow (26 January) to Monday morning. The showers could also lead to “local flooding” as outlined by a yellow warning.
