Horror as 16-year-old boy ‘stabbed on busy seafront’ in Bournemouth

A TEENAGE boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed on a busy seafront last night. The 16-year-old lad became involved in an altercation with another youth on Bournemouth Beach at around 9.30pm.

During the brawl, the teenager suffered suspected stab wounds and was rushed to hospital. His injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

Police officers descended on the scene next to Bournemouth Pier. They arrested a 21-year-old man from Southampton on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

The shocking incident happened on the hottest day of the year when the beach had been packed with tens of thousands of tourists.

“It was absolute chaos from about 9.30pm,” a local told the Daily Echo. “All of a sudden there were sirens everywhere. I’ve never heard so many sirens, and it was high speed, like one after the other. “It was chaos. I’ve honestly never heard anything like it.”
