A car has driven into a group of people at a Christmas market in Germany, a news agency has reported. Dpa said the driver had been arrested following the incident in the eastern city of Magdeburg.
A local government spokesperson said several people had been injured and several may have been killed, Reuters reported, citing public broadcaster MDR.
Police said on X that extensive operations were taking place at the Magdeburg Christmas market.
The market in the city centre was closed and further reports would follow, police added.
