Tributes pour in as major Hollywood star dies

Val Kilmer, star of films including Top Gun and Batman, has died at the age of 65. The legendary American actor rose to fame after starring in the 1986 Tom Cruise action film and later played Batman in 1995’s Batman Forever.

His daughter Mercedes said Kilmer had died from pneumonia in a statement to The New York Times.

Hollywood stars have paid tribute to Kilmer, including The Goonies and No Country for Old Men actor Josh Brolin.

In an Instagram post, the 57-year-old actor said he would miss his ‘pal.’

‘You were a smart, challenging, brave, uber-creative firecracker,’ Brolin wrote.
